Samwise "Sam" Gamgee is a character in the Lord of the Rings and Middle-earth Film Saga, appearing in the first three of the series (LOTR). He is the best friend of Frodo Baggins and close friends with Merry Brandybuck and Peregrin "Pippin" Took.
